Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association announces 2021 Hall of Fame Induction plans

The Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association has announced that their Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies will now be held on Labor Day Weekend in the Iowa Great Lakes.

Executive Director Clay Norris explains.  "Typically we induct a class, they're voted on the previous September to November, and then in January they're announced and then they're formally inducted that Labor Day.  There's a class that that happened to  and they never got the opportunity to be inducted, because we had to keep moving it.  We thought we could do it on Labor Day, then we thought maybe we could do it Memorial Day, and with the uptick in the coronavirus cases, we just felt like it was best to go ahead and induct this class this Labor Day.  It was for the safety of people, but then also, these folks have worked really hard to get into this position in their life, and it's a once in a lifetime type of event and you want it to be good, you want their families, their friends, the fans to be able to attend.  So, that was our decision."

He notes that a number of festivities are currently planned.  "We plan to kick it off with a Rock the Roof.  Arnolds Park is going to be hosting one of our Inductees, Head East, will be performing on Friday night.  Then on Saturday, there's a variety of activities.  We're hopeful that we would be able to do Iowa Rocks Talent, for example.  Then on Sunday is the induction itself."
