Iowa Lakeside Laboratory to present several performances of Nature: A Walking Play
Thu 8-8-2019 1838 Highway 86, Milford, IA
(Okoboji)-Iowa Lakeside Lab in association with TigerLion Arts will present the walking play, Nature: A Walking Play, August 8-11
Lakeside Executive Director Mary Skopec says the play will be performed on the Campus of Iowa Lakeside Lab:
"Nature: A Walking Play, is really about the relationship between Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau. Of course, these are famous icons American history and writers, and they really focused on nature, their love of nature, and then, of course, their friendship. The play really focuses on that friendship and, the unusual piece, is that it's a walking play. So, there's music and singing, there's acting, and then we'll be walking around the Lakeside grounds as they're performing the piece."
She adds that its an opportunity to experience the grounds of Lakeside Lab:
"We're really hoping that people that haven't come to Lakeside before will come out and experience something that is a little bit theatrical and a little bit musical, and see the tremendous grounds that we have. We have 147 acres along the west shore of West Okoboji, and we have prairie and woodlands and lake shore, just really beautiful natural areas. So, if people haven't been here before, this is a great time to come out and experience what we have to offer, see what the campus looks like, and just maybe see a part of West Okoboji that they haven't seen before."
Several performances of the play will be presented. Tonight and tomorrow night at 6 o'clock at Lakeside Lab, with a special performance at 1 pm during the Okoboji Blue Water Festival on Saturday, and a 1 o'clock performance at Lakeside on Sunday Afternoon.
