(Estherville)-The new Performing Arts Center at Iowa Lakes Community College will be dedicated on Thursday, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
Iowa Lakes Community College will hold the Dedication and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Janice K. Lund Performing Arts Center on Thursday evening.
College President Valerie Newhouse says the ceremony will feature tours and speakers. "The program itself will be outdoors. We will have multiple speakers presenting, everyone of our Trustees will have a few words, the Executive Director of the Iowa Association of Community College Trustees will be here, and she will say a few words, and of course, I hate to miss an opportunity to say a few words, and then we will hear from Janice Lund toward the end. Then we will have a ribbon cutting outside, we will unveil the building plaque on the inside, again, we will have some tours beforehand and after in small groups of 8 or less. Masks are required inside, masks are required outside."
She adds that the event will include the first performance at the Center. "Glenn Henriksen will be our featured entertainment. He will be playing outdoors before the program, and then he will move to the inside and he will be the first performer on stage. While the tours are going on, Glenn will be playing the Steinway that we have on our stage."
The Dedication and Ribbon Cutting will begin at 5 o'clock Thursday on the Estherville Campus.
