Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of Citizens Climate Lobby to hold monthly meeting at Iowa Lakeside Lab February 8
Thu 2-6-2020 1838 Highway 86, Milford, IA
(Milford)-The public is welcome to attend a Citizens Climate Lobby meeting on Saturday, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Great Lakes Chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby will hold their monthly meeting Saturday morning at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.
Group Co-Leader Roger Patocka says the group will be discussing the bipartisan Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act or HR 763. "That bill has already been introduced, it's a bipartisan bill. It sets up a price on carbon. It sets up a mechanism that will collect these fees from energy producers, and then that amount of money that's collected from that will go back to families. So, that should help people offset that higher cost, and the market then, hopefully, will favor those activities and what we do on a day to day basis to reduce that carbon price."
He notes that the meeting is open to anyone wishing to attend. "Everyone's welcome, we'll be more than happy to get acquainted with you. We're an international organization. Iowa has, I think, seven different Chapters."
The meeting will start at 10:30 at Waitt Lab on the Iowa Lakeside Laboratory Campus.
