Iowa DPH Reporting One Additional COVID-19 Related Death And 183 New Cases Of The Virus Today (Monday)
(Des Moines)-- The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting one additional death related to COVID-19 along with 183 new cases of the virus for the previous 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Mon.) morning. The total number of deaths is now at 686 with the total number of confirmed cases at 26,048. Officials say the total number of recoveries is at 16,101.
169 Iowans were hospitalized with the virus as of this (Mon.) morning with 51 in intensive care units and 28 on ventilators.
Locally, the total number of cases in Dickinson county as of earlier today (Mon.) was at 201 with 75 recoveries. Numbers for adjoining counties included Clay county with a total of 105 cases; Emmet at 58; Palo Alto 22; O'Brien at 73 and Osceola county with 49.
A Test Iowa site went into operation a short while ago (12 Noon) just west of the Expo Building and behind the show barns at the Dickinson County Fairgrounds in Spirit Lake. It will be open until 5:00 pm today (Mon.). Hours tomorrow (Tues.) through Friday will be from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm. Those planning to get tested at the site need to first complete an online assessment at Test Iowa-dot-com.
