Iowa Dept. Of Public Health Reporting 204 New Cases Of COVID-19 With 5 Additional Deaths
(Des Moines)-- The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting five additional COVID-19 deaths in Iowa and 204 new cases for the past 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Mon.) morning. This brings Iowa's total to 19,688 confirmed cases with a death toll of 538.
Twenty-four COVID-19 patients were admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours which brings the state total to 339 hospitalized. Of those in the hospital, 125 are in intensive care while 73 are on ventilators.
Additional cases were reported in several northwest Iowa counties over the weekend. As of this (Monday) morning, Dickinson county has had a total of 21 positive cases since the pandemic began. Only six of those have recovered. Elsewhere, Emmet county was up to 15 positive cases so far; Clay county 16; O'Brien and Osceola counties were both at 31; Buena Vista county was at 793; Palo Alto county 6; Pocahontas county was at 12 positive cases so far; Plymouth county at 133; Sioux county 282 and Lyon county was at 24.
