(Spencer)-- Investigators say a fire that heavily damaged a house earlier this week in Spencer was intentionally set and that charges have been filed against a woman.
Spencer Fire Chief Doug Duncan says an investigation involving his department, the Spencer Police Department, the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Clay County Attorney’s Office resulted in 18-year-old Bianca Williams being charged with arson in the 2nd degree and two counts of animal abuse.
The Spencer Fire Department was called around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday to 612 3rd avenue West and found fire coming from the south and east side of the house. Duncan says the home sustained heavy heat and smoke damage, with major damage to the kitchen and dining area.
Firefighters were on the scene about three hours.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
