Investigation Into Stolen Pickup Results In Arrest Of Estherville Man On Multiple Charges
(Estherville)-- An investigation into a stolen pickup and trailer has resulted in the arrest of an Estherville man on multiple charges.
The Emmet County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was called to 1931 400th Avenue and observed a pickup truck and trailer parked at that location. Upon further investigation it was discovered the pickup had been stolen out of South Dakota, and that the trailer attached to it was registered to Justin Julich of Estherville. Both the pickup and trailer were impounded and a search warrant was obtained and executed on the vehicle. It resulted in authorities finding what's believed to be methamphetamine. A second search warrant was then obtained and executed on the trailer resulting in deputies finding about a half pound of methamphetamine along with heroin and firearms.
Julich was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance...heroin, two counts of possession of firearms by a convicted felon, possession of stolen property, 2nd degree theft, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, 4th degree theft, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Julich was taken into custody January 24th by Estherville police and was booked into the Emmet county jail.
Later that same day Emmet county authorities obtained and executed a search warrant on Julich's residence where additional evidence was found. The following day Julich appeared before a magistrate and his bond was increased to $75,000 cash. Julich was released from jail on February 4th after posting the bond.
Authorities say the case is still under investigation.
