Incident East Of Arnolds Park Lands Spirit Lake Man In Jail On Multiple Charges; Authorities Confiscate Firearms And Ammo
(Spirit Lake)-- Multiple charges have been filed against a Spirit Lake man following an incident last (Mon.) evening just east of Arnolds Park.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office says authorities were called around 3:30 pm to a domestic disturbance in the 1800 block of 242nd Avenue. Upon arriving they learned 53-year-old Keith Lynch of Spirit Lake had allegedly assaulted a female and threatened her with a gun. The woman fled the residence and was treated and released for injuries she sustained.
The High Risk Entry and Arrest, or HEAT tactical team was then activated and took Lynch into custody at the residence.
A search warrant was obtained and executed on the residence resulting in authorities seizing firearms and ammunition.
Lynch was arrested and booked into the Dickinson county jail on charges of domestic abuse assault with a weapon, willful injury and going armed with intent...all class "D" felonies, along with intimidation with a dangerous weapon...a class "C" felony, and child endangerment...an aggravated misdemeanor.
The Dickinson County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the scene by Dickinson County Emergency Management, the Arnolds Park, Okoboji, Milford and Spirit Lake Police Departments, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the HEAT Tactical Team.
