ILCC to host Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Algona Addition August 31
(Algona)-There's a ribbon-cutting on tap at Iowa Lakes Community College, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:
Iowa Lakes Community College will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday to celebrate the opening of the new Algona Campus Addition.
College President Valerie Newhouse explains. "We went for a bond referendum in February of 2016, and one of the projects we had on that referendum that was put to the voters was an addition to the Algona Campus that would consist of two large classrooms that could be joined together to form one even bigger classroom, and so, this Friday, we will be able to have the ribbon cutting on this addition, this business addition, that we're calling it, because it will primarily serve to provide courses for people in business, wanting to go into business, and specifically we will be housing our Tietz Entrepreneurial Center in this area."
She notes that the public is encouraged to attend the ceremony and view the facility. "Friday morning will be the usual Chamber Coffee starting at 9:30 and the city residents are all invited to the Chamber Coffee, and at 10 o'clock we will have our short program along with the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon and we can open the door on this fantastic addition."
