IGL Chamber Thinking Ahead To Warmer Times; Finalizing Preparations For 39th Annual Walleye Weekend
(Arnolds Park)-- Here's a sign of warmer things to come. The Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is finalizing plans for Walleye Weekend. Chamber CEO Blain Andera says the 39th annual event will be held the weekend of May 1st and 2nd...
"If you catch one of the 10 specially tagged walleye, you have a chance at $39,000. Sponsorship information is available. Again we have to thank our partners with that, and so far we've already had Arnolds Park, the city of Arnolds Park, sign up as a Walleye level sponsor, and we've got four sponsorship packages: the bluegill, the bass, the northern pike, and then the top tier is the walleye, so."
Andera says you may want to strongly consider signing up for the extended contest when you're registering...
"We had three tagged walleye caught in the extended contest last summer, so they're out there, they're available. Unfortunately none of those three anglers were registered, so we weren't able to pay out any of the extended contest money."
