IDPH Reports Three Additional COVID-19 Deaths & 381 New Cases; New Cases Continue To Increase Locally
(Des Moines)-- The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting three additional deaths due to COVID-19 and 381 new cases of the virus for the 24 hour period ending at 10:00 am this (Friday) morning. It brings the total number of deaths in the state so far to 641 with a total of 22,166 confirmed cases since the pandemic began. Of those, health officials say 14,058 cases have recovered.
Locally, the spike in positive cases continues in Dickinson county, which saw its total number of cases increase to 112 as of 10:00 am this (Friday) morning. Of those, 35 have recovered, meaning there are currently 77 active cases in the county.
As far as adjoining counties go, Emmet county was at 38 total cases so far; Palo Alto at 13; Clay has had 59 cases; O'Brien county 62 and Osceola county was at 49 total cases so far.
