IDPH Reports Additional 56 Positive Cases Of COVID-19 In The State, Along With Two More Deaths Associated With The Virus
(Des Moines)-- The number of positive cases of COVID-19 in Iowa continues to go up.
The Iowa Department of Public Health reported late this (Fri.) morning an additional 56 positive cases since Thursday, bringing the total number of cases since the outbreak started to 235.
The department also announced today (Fri.) two additional deaths related to COVID-19 in Iowa, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease in the state to three. The DPH says among the two deaths reported last (Thurs.) night, one was an elderly adult, aged 81 and over, from Poweshiek county while the other was an older adult between 61 and 80 years-old from Allamakee county.
The updated number of new cases includes the one from Dickinson county reported late yesterday (Thurs.) afternoon. Among the latest cases reported, it was the only one from our region.
Governor Kim Reynolds will hold a press conference at 2:30 this (Fri.) afternoon to provide an update.
