IDPH Reporting 9 Additional COVID-19 Related Deaths And 219 New Cases Of The Virus Statewide
(Des Moines)-- Latest information from the Iowa Department of Public Health shows that for the 24 hours ending at 10:00 am this (Wed.) morning there were 219 additional cases of COVID 19 statewide with nine additional deaths. That brings the state's death toll to 670. The total number of cases in Iowa now stands at 24,380. Officials say 15,126 of those have recovered.
The agency says in northwest Iowa, 70 patients were in the hospital with the virus as of today (Wed.) with 24 in intensive care and 16 on ventilators.
Locally, the total number of cases in Dickinson county was at 166 with 56 recoveries. In adjoining counties, Clay county was at 85 cases to date; Emmet at 44; Palo Alto at 16; O'Brien at 67 and Osceola county at 49.
It was mentioned this (Wed.) during an online meeting with Dickinson County Public Health and lakes area businesses that a Test Iowa site will be coming to the Dickinson County Expo Building in Spirit Lake this coming Monday. Additional details will be forthcoming.
