IDPH Reporting 19 Additional COVID-19 Deaths And 421 Additional Positive Cases
(Des Moines)-- The Iowa Department of Public Health reported 19 additional COVID-19 deaths as of this (Thursday) morning bringing the state's death toll so far to 400. The agency also confirmed 421 positive cases, bringing the state's total to 15,954.
Health officials say 376 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 with 126 in ICU's.
In northwest Iowa, there are 82 hospitalized COVID-19 patients. 36 of those are in intensive care units with 27 on ventilators.
Locally, Buena Vista county reported nine additional cases as of earlier today (Thurs.) for a total of 130; two new cases were reported in O'Brien county for a total of 23; Sioux county reported 24 new cases for a total of 178; and Plymouth county is reporting seven new cases for a total of 96. Cases in other northwest Iowa counties were unchanged, including Dickinson with eight.
