I-90 Collision Injures Two

Thu 11-17-2016 []

(Luverne, Mn.)-- A collision Wednesday on Interstate 90 near Luverne involving a car and a semi sent two people to the hospital.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 48-year-old Anthony Shealey of Mountain Home, Arkansas was driving a 2017 Kenworth semi westbound when he swerved to miss a deer, causing him to lose control. The rig overturned, completely blocking the westbound lanes of the interstate.

Troopers say 26-year-old Ricardo Gaytan Soto of Worthington was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo westbound and didn't see the semi. He ran directly into the trailer.

Soto and Shealey were taken to Sanford Hospital in Luverne with non life-threatening injuries. No injuries were reported to a passenger in the semi.

Both the semi and car were totaled.

The crash took place shortly after 10:00 pm.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Rock and Nobles County Sheriff's Offices.
