(Graettinger)-- Several people were checked out on the scene for possible injuries following a two-vehicle collision this past Saturday on at the intersection of a county road and Highway 4 just north of Graettinger.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Brent Graettinger of Graettinger was driving a 1996 Lincoln Towncar westbound on the county road and was approaching the intersection with Highway 4. Deputies say he stopped for a stop sign, then pulled into the path of a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am driven by 32-year-old Joshua Claussen of Graettinger.

The occupants of both vehicles were checked over on the scene by paramedics and released.

Damage to the Lincoln was estimated at $7,500 while the Pontiac sustained an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Graettinger was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Claussen was arrested for driving while barred and was booked into jail pending an initial court appearance.

The collision took place shortly after 12 Noon Saturday.
