Hwy 18 Collision Sends Two People To The Hospital

(Boyden)-- Two people were injured in a collision early Tuesday on Highway 18 a half mile west of Boyden.

Sioux county authorities say 18-year-old Benjamin Van Oterloo of Rock Valley was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado westbound when he crossed the center line and sidewiped an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 18-year-old Tiffani Bergstrom of Primghar.

Both drivers were taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital with minor injuries.

$5,000 in damage was estimated to the Silverado driven by Van Oterloo; damage to the Trailblazer driven by Bergstrom was estimated at $4,000.

The collision took place around 12:16 am. Authorities say it's still under investigation.
