Hwy 18 Collision Sends One Person To The Hospital

(Boyden)-- A two-vehicle collision Saturday at the intersection of Highway 18 and Lily Avenue near Boyden sent one person to the hospital.

The Sioux County Sheriff's Office says 24-year-old Give Lewi of George was driving a 2007 Ford Edge southbound on Lily Avenue and 41-year-old Jeremy Stueven of George was driving a 2006 Peterbilt semi tractor pulling a grain trailer westbound on Highway 18 when the two collided in the intersection.

Lewi was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital.

$10,000 in damage was estimated to the vehicle Lewi was driving; damage to the Peterbilt driven by Stueven was estimated at $15,000.

Lewi was cited for failure to obey a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver's license and operating a motor vehicle with no insurance.
