Health Officials Reporting Additional 757 Cases Of COVID-19 In Iowa As Of Today (Sat.)
(Des Moines)-- The Iowa Department of Public Health today (Saturday) is reporting an additional 757 positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's total to 8,641 positive cases. It's the highest daily total so far and reflects continued expanded testing. There have been an additional 3,377 negative cases for a total of 41,085 negative tests to date, which includes testing reported by the State Hygienic Lab and other labs.
Officials say 87 percent of the new cases reported today (Saturday) are in the 22 counties where restrictions remain in place. 493 of the new positive cases being reported are from Black Hawk, Dallas, Polk and Woodbury counties.
Five more deaths are also being reported today (Saturday) with 353 hospitalizations.
