Head Of DNR's Spencer Field Office Retires After 28 Years With The Agency

(Spencer)-- The head of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources' Spencer field office has retired.

Ken Hessenius worked in that position the past 15 years. He served the DNR a total of 28 years.

Hessenius retired December 28th.

In his good-bye letter, Hessenius applauded staff in the Spencer office, saying he believes significant strides have been made in environmental protection. 

The Spencer field office serves a 16-county area of northwest Iowa.
