Governor Kim Reynolds Extends Emergency Closure Of Retail Establishments For One More Week
(Des Moines, IA) -- Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds is extending the emergency closure of retail establishments such as restaurants and bars for one more week.
The governor today (Thursday) says the extension will keep the ban from indoor service at those establishments through April 7th. She is also expanding the emergency order to include clothing and bookstores.
The latest update from the Department of Public Health shows 34 new cases of coronavirus in Iowa for a total of 179. There is still only one covid-19 death --which happened in Dubuque County.
There are 31 people hospitalized with the virus as of Wednesday evening -- which is up from 23 through Tuesday.
