(Primghar)-- A former business office manager for three northwest Iowa businesses has been arrested on theft charges. The O'Brien County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Jamie Riedemann of Calumet was arrested Monday following a lengthy investigation into a theft complaint from Calumet Carriers in Calumet, which consists of C-S Asgrow, Hicks Electric and Concrete Guys.

Authorities say they were contacted in October, 2016 after company officials discovered some business funds had allegedly been misappropriated. Riedemann is accused of using her position as office manager to purchase unauthorized items for personal use. She's also accused of creating fraudulent reports and inaccurately showing the amount of hours she worked. The complaint also accuses Riedeman of paying herself for unauthorized claims for reimbursement and misappropriating company funds to pay for personal expenses. The complaint says the alleged thefts totaled more than $40,000.

Riedemann was charged with one count of theft in the 1st degree, a class “C” felony, and three counts of theft in the 2nd degree, all class “D” felonies, along with three counts of theft by credit card, two of which are class “D” felonies and one of which is an aggravated misdemeanor. She was also charged with one count of tampering with records.

Riedemann was booked into the O’Brien county jail on a $25,000 bond. She made an appearance before a Magistrate who set an unsecured appearance bond of $10,000. Riedemann was released from jail after posting that amount, and is to appear in court at a later date.

The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation assisted in the case.
