Fire Destroys House In Wallingford

(Wallingford)-- No injuries were reported in a house fire early this (Thurs.) morning in Wallingford. Wallingford Fire Chief Jarrod Fischer says firefighters were called to 118 Highway 4 north in Wallingford shortly before 3:00 a.m. Upon arriving he says they found the house completely engulfed.

Fire departments from Estherville, Gruver and Graettinger were called to assist with manpower and water.

Fischer says the house, owned by Douglas Young of Wallingford, was unoccupied at the time.

He says a representative of the State Fire Marshall's Office was on the scene and ruled the cause as undetermined.

The Wallingford Fire Department was assisted by the Wallingford EMS Service, the Estherville Ambulance Service, Emmet County Sheriff's Office, Black Hills Energy, Alliant Energy and the State Fire Marshall's Office.
