(Jackson, Mn.)-- A fiery two-vehicle crash Thursday evening east of Jackson claimed the life of a Sherburn, Mn. man.

The Minnesota State Patrol says one of the drivers, 65-year-old Dwight Krogman of Sherburn, was pronounced dead a short time after the collision. The driver of the other vehicle, a 17-year-old female juvenile who's name and hometown haven't been released, was injured and was taken to Sanford Hospital in Jackson. Two passengers in the teen's vehicle, Taylor Nissen and Kaylee Nissen, both of Estherville, were taken to Sanford Hospital in Jackson.

Troopers say the 17-year-old female juvenile was southbound on Jackson County Road 29 and Krogman was eastbound on Jackson County Road 34, or the Highway 4 detour. Authorities say the female juvenile failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the vehicle driven by Krogman. Krogman's vehicle then caught on fire.

A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am driven by the female juvenile and a 2007 Dodge Charger driven by Krogman were both totaled.

The collision took place shortly before 7:00 p.m.

The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the Jackson ambulance, and the Jackson and Alpha Fire Departments.
