Fiery Crash Claims Life Of Okabena Man

(Okabena, Mn.)-- An Okabena man was killed in a one vehicle accident early Friday morning.

Around 5:20am on Friday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one vehicle accident on County Highway 20, near 260th Avenue. It was reported a vehicle hit the bridge over the Okabena Creek and was

on fire.

The driver of the vehicle, 25 year-old James Decker of Okabena was fatally injured. A 2007 Subaru Legacy GT that he was driving was a total loss.

The Okabena Fire Department, Heron Lake Fire Department, Martin County Dive Rescue Team, MN DNR, and MN State Patrol assisted at the scene.
