Federated Rural Electric Association Says Crews Continue To Make Good Progress In Power Restoration Efforts
(Jackson, Mn.)-- Officials with Jackson-based Federated Rural Electric Association says crews made good progress Friday in restoring power.
Scott Reimer, General Manager of Federated REA, says as of Friday morning they had 1,992 outages. As of late Friday that number had dropped to 1,490.
He says crews are continuing to work into the weekend.
Additional crews, including some from Iowa, were brought in to assist in the massive effort.
Reimer says Federated's major supplier of electricity, Great River Energy, still has a number of main transmission lines and poles down. That company has also brought in additional crews.
