Federated REA Restores Power To Remainder Of Those Affected By Last Week's Ice Storm
(Jackson, Mn.)-- Jackson-based Federated Rural Electric Association says power was restored to the rest of its members Sunday who had been without it since last week's ice storm.
At the peak, Federated REA says 2,700, or about 40 percent of its members, were without power.
Even though power is fully restored, Federated REA General Manager Scott Reimer says they still have a lot of clean-up to do and some reinspection of lines. He says the utility still has a lot of leaning poles. Reimer says restoring the system back to the level it was prior to last week's storm will probably take more than a year. He says they'll likely have to hire contractors to rebuild some sections of line.
