(Estherville)-Estherville Voters overwhelmingly approved a bond measure for a new public pool project on Tuesday, with nearly 70 percent of voters in favor of the 4.1 million dollar project, which will be constructed near the Regional Wellness Center in Estherville.

732 voters voted in favor of the bond issue with 329 votes against. Yesterday's Special Election also included a contest for the Ward 1 City Council Seat which saw Gary Heckard take the seat with 190 votes to incumbent Cindy Hood's 87 votes.

That's according to unofficial results from the Emmet County Auditor's Office.  The results will be unofficial until canvassed by the Emmet County Board of Supervisors' August 13th board meeting.
