(Estherville)-- An Estherville man has been arrested on weapons and drug charges.

Estherville police say they were called shortly after 1:00 pm this past Saturday to a report of a disturbance at 621 North 12th Street in Estherville. Upon arriving officers saw two males in a garage of the residence. Authorities say one of them, 29-year-old Randy Kurth, was wanted on a warrant out of Audubon county for a probation violation.

Upon arresting Kurth, police discovered he was carrying a handgun with a loaded magazine in it, and that he was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

A consent search of a bag Kurth was carrying resulted in officers finding another handgun with a loaded magazine in it.

Kurth was booked into the Emmet county jail on two counts of carrying firearms, possession of a controlled substance...methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Kurth appeared before a magistrate and was released the next day on a $10,000 signature bond.
