Estherville Man Arrested On Drug And Child Endangerment Charges

(Estherville)-- What started off as an investigation into a disturbance at a residence in Estherville last Thursday wound up in police obtaining and executing a search warrant, which resulted in the arrest of a man on drug and other charges.

Estherville police say officers were called to 409 North 5th Street shortly before 10:00 pm. Authorities learned a man was inside the residence breaking items. A short time later police met with the suspect, 24-year-old Enoch Durant of Estherville, as he was leaving the residence. Police say Durant had incurred numerous injuries and was taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital.

Upon further investigation, police obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence resulting in them finding what's believed to be cocaine and marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.

After he was released from the hospital, police arrested and charged Durant with possession of a controlled substance...cocaine, possession of a controlled substance...marijuana, child endangerment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Durant was booked into the Emmet county jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
