(Estherville)-It's time to kick off the holiday season in Estherville, KUOO's Becky Thoreson has details:

Estherville Annual Chocolate Walk and Parade of Lights to be held November 15 

The Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce will hold their Annual Chocolate Walk and Parade of Lights on Thursday.

Executive Director Lexie Ruter says the festivities will get underway at 4 o'clock.  "We have a really awesome holiday kick off.  You can come down to Estherville from 4 to 7 pm.  We have our Chocolate Walk.  So, all of our retailers have chocolate treats and goodies, and they also offer really great specials and deals in their stores.  Then at 7 o'clock, we do our lighted parade.  Our Parade of Lights really prestty.  It's a great kick off to Christmas.  We have about 20 some floats, and it's a nice little parade, not too long, just a really pretty way to kick off the holiday season."

She adds that families are encouraged to meet Santa following the parade.  "When Santa gets all the way through the parade route, he's our last parade float, he comes to Library Square, and we encourage everyone to bring their kids our to have them help Santa light up Library Square for the holiday season."

 The parade route will be along Central Avenue from 5th Street to 13th Street on Thursday evening.
