Employee Of Local Service That Provides Assistance To Vulnerable Adults Charged With Having Sex With A Client

(Spirit Lake)-- An employee of a Spirit Lake adult living service has been charged with sexual exploitation, a felony, for allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of her clients, a 28-year-old male.

40-year-old Danielle Shadle of Harris was charged with sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist.

Court records say Shadle was arrested October 25th. Shadle has since pleaded not guilty to the charge in Dickinson County District Court.

A judge has ordered she have no contact with the victim.

It's illegal under Iowa law for people who provide counseling to vulnerable individuals to try to establish a sexual relationship with them.
