Emmet County Traffic Stop Results In Arrest (3)
(Estherville)-- A traffic stop back on January 15th on Highway 4 near Wallingford resulted in the arrest of a Harris man.
The Emmet County Sheriff's Office says it happened shortly after 2:00 am when a deputy clocked a vehicle on radar traveling 100 mph, and was in the deputy's lane of travel, forcing the deputy off the road to avoid a collision.
The suspect vehicle was stopped following a brief pursuit. A subsequent investigation resulted in deputies finding controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 31-year-old Christopher Hofmann of Harris was arrested and booked into jail on charges of operating while intoxicated...1st offense, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver's license, driving the wrong way on a two lane highway and speeding.
Hofmann was being held on a $10,000 cash or surety bond.
