Fri 9-11-2020

(Estherville)-- The Emmet County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the pickup truck and an adult male (see photos) in connection with an ongoing investigation. Both are pictured at a convenience store in Spirit Lake at 10:17 am Thursday, September 10th.

Sheriff Mike Martens says it's related in connection to the investigation of the incident involving the stolen U-Haul, also pictured, that was recovered in Emmet county on September 10th.

Anyone with information should contact the Emmet County Sheriff's Office at 712-362-2639.

One suspect in the case, Joseph Haak of Johnston, Iowa, was arrested around 8:30 am this (Friday) morning after he was spotted walking in the 3900 block of 250th Street in Emmet county. Haak was arrested on multiple charges stemming from a burglary in Emmet county and the theft of a U-Haul from Sioux Falls.

Haak managed to elude authorities from multiple agencies during a manhunt Thursday near Wallingford.
