Emerald Ash Borer Confirmed In Another County In The Region
(Windom, Mn.)-- Emerald Ash Borer has been confirmed in another county in the region. The pest has now been detected in Cottonwood county in southwest Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Agriculture says its staff recently conducted a visual survey south of Comfrey where the insect had been found last summer. Live larvae were collected from the site.
A quarantine to limit the movement of firewood and ash material out of Cottonwood county is now in effect.
Cottonwood is the 26th county in Minnesota confirmed to have Emerald Ash Borer.
