D.O.T Seeking Public Comment On Hwy. 18 Bridge Project In O'Brien County
(Ames)-- The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on a project to replace the Highway 18 bridge over Waterman Creek in O'Brien county, about 1.3 miles west of County Road M-12.
The proposed project includes removal of the existing bridge and replacing it with a standard three-span pretensioned and prestressed concrete beam bridge that is 201' 4” by 44 feet. The D.O.T says new bridge approaches will also be constructed along with new guardrails and paved shoulders.
Plans call for through traffic on Highway 18 to be detoured during the project, using Vine Avenue, or O'Brien County Road M12, 360th Street, or O'Brien County Road B24, and U.S. Highway 59.
Comments on the proposed project must be received by this coming August 15th. They can be submitted to Shane Tymkowicz, P.E., assistant district engineer, Iowa DOT District 3 Office, 2800 Gordon Drive, Sioux City, Iowa...51102, or by phone (712) 276-1451 or 800-284-4368. Comments may also be emailed to email@example.com.
