Dog Complaint Lands Two Men In Jail On Drug Charges

(Spirit Lake)-- An investigation Thursday evening into a dog complaint landed two Spirit Lake men in jail on drug charges. Spirit Lake police say officers were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. to 1006 12th Street. Upon speaking with the residents of that address, the officer could smell marijuana. Police then obtained and executed a search warrant on the residence, resulting in them finding what's alleged to be marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.

21-year-old Dylan Eddy and 22-year-old Logan Cody, both of Spirit Lake, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance...marijuana...1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and gatherings where unlawful substances are used. The two men were booked into the Dickinson county jail.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and that additional charges are expected.

Spirit Lake police were assisted by the Okoboji Police Department and the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office.
