DNR To Hear Public Comment On Hunting & Trapping Regulations
(Spencer)-- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will hold a public meeting via the ICN later this month to gather public input on hunting and trapping regulations.
The February 22nd session will run from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and will be available at a number of sites throughout the state, including Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, and at the Spencer campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.
The session will feature a discussion facilitated by DNR staff on what went well last fall, what didn't, and what changes hunters and trappers would like to see this fall.
Information will be presented on harvest and population numbers that would be used to develop recommendations for any rule changes. Any changes would need to be approved by the Natural Resource Commission and would then go back to the public for further comment before taking effect in the fall.
