DNR Announces New Conservation & Recreation Division Administrator

(Des Moines)-- Kayla Lyon, Director of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, today (Mon.) announced Pete Hildreth has been named Administrator of the DNR's Conservation and Recreation Division, which oversees the Wildlife, Fisheries, Law Enforcement, Engineering, Land and Waters and Parks and Preserves and Forests bureaus. He replaces Dale Garner, who retired from the position in late September.

Hildreth began his career with the DNR in 1999. He was hired in 2004 as a Natural Resource Technician at the Prairie Lakes Wildlife Unit in Ruthven. In 2010 Hildreth became a Natural Resource Biologist and worked on several projects, including the Storm Lake WMA. Hildreth most recently served as the Southwest District Wildlife Supervisor for the Wildlife Bureau.
