(Spencer)-- The discovery of drugs in a purse at the Clay county jail earlier this week resulted in the arrest of a Spencer woman on drug charges. The Clay County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was called to the jail Monday after a worker found a small baggie with what's alleged to be methamphetamine in it, along with several doseage units of hydrocodone in a pill bottle that was labeled differently.

The owner of the purse, 45-year-old Teri Stevenson, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance...hydrocodone; possession of a controlled substance...methamphetamine; and introducing drugs into a correctional facility.

Stevenson was booked into the Clay county jail pending an initial court appearance.
