Dickinson County COVID-19 Cases Hits 60
(Spirit Lake)-- The number of positive COVID-19 cases in Dickinson county increased to 60 as of late this (Monday) afternoon, up five from earlier in the day. That's according to information from the Iowa Department of Public Health and its coronavirus.iowa.gov website/dashboard.
The county's caseload has now nearly tripled over the past week or so.
As we reported earlier today (Monday) Dr. Zach Borus of Dickinson County Public Health says officials are deeply concerned over the increase and are closely monitoring the situation.
In a video posted on social media earlier today (Monday) Dr. Borus said as of now Lakes Regional Healthcare is continuing to offer elective surgeries but he says they will keep a close eye on the situation, adding there could be changes coming if hospital resources start becoming an issue. As of earlier today Dr. Borus said there were no COVID-19 patients hospitalized at Lakes Regional Healthcare.
