Dickinson Co. Supervisors Approve Request From Emmet County To Join Sioux Rivers Mental Health Services Region; Canvass Election Results
(Spirit Lake)-- It appears likely another county will be joining the Sioux Rivers Mental Health Services Region. Dickinson county is a member of that consortium. The Board of Supervisors today (Tues.) approved a request from Emmet county to join the region effective July 1st, 2021. Supervisor Kim Wermersen represents Dickinson county on the region's Board of Governance...
"At our Governance Board meeting we unanimously voted to accept them into the region. They offer really some beneficial things for the region. Forest Ridge would really help us with our child care mental health, and they come as a financially solvent county which is always a good thing as well. We think that the fit would be very good. So it was unanimously voted on at the Governance Board meeting."
The addition of Emmet county is dependent upon the approval of a majority of the other member counties also approving the request. Emmet would be the sixth county to join the region.
In other business, the supervisors reviewed some preliminary plans to rearrange the Community Room in the courthouse, where the board meets, to accommodate social distancing. They directed staff to get quotes and report back.
They also canvassed results of last week's General Election, which turned up no discrepancies.
