Dickinson Co. Nature Center Photo Contest Underway
(Okoboji)-- Get those cameras and cell phones ready. Kiley Roth of the Dickinson County Nature Center tells KUOO news they're accepting entries in the latest round of their bi-annual photography contest...
"It's a pretty open kind of contest. Images just all have to be nature-related. It could be anything from wildlife photography to birds in your back yard, butterflies and moths that you see on your plants in the summertime. This time of year, you know, it could be a lake ice landscape, it could be a sunset over the snow. It's just a wide variety of shots that appreciate nature, and it can be taken anywhere in the world. Basically all ages are invited to participate in this, so we'll take all the photos and then group them into a category of age 13 and younger, 14 to 18 or 19 and older, and then we'll choose winner in each age group."
Roth says winners in each age group will be notified via e-mail by April 15th...
"Their images will be featured prominently in our photography display at the Dickinson County Nature Center, and then we do display all of the other photos submitted in 4 by 6 format as well, and then it will be the Nature Center's May Facebook cover photo and it will be featured on our Nature Center website. Winners will also receive a small gift certificate for the Nature Store at the Nature Center, so a few small prizes but it will get people's photos out there and a lot of people will be able to see them, which is always awesome."
Photographers may enter up to three photos 1 to 15 megabits in size. Photos can be submitted to email@example.com.
