Dickinson Co. 4-H & FFA Fair Is Headed Down The Home Stretch
(Spirit Lake)-- Beef has taken center stage today (Tues.) at the Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair with the beef show underway. The Okoboji FFA chapter is serving up a lunch until 1:30 this (Tues.) afternoon at the indoor arena. Hannah Dibble, K-12 Educator with ISU Extension and Outreach, Dickinson County, says more food and fun will be on the docket this (Tues.) evening...
"This evening we have a Pork Producer dinner and a Ranch Rodeo. The dinner goes from 5:00 until 7:00 and the rodeo is after that at 7:30."
Dibble says Wednesday will mark another full day at the fair...
"We've got the Swine Show in the morning. It's a busy day for the kids as they decide if they're going to go through the auction ring on Thursday. But tomorrow night, Wednesday night, we'll have a food truck roundup for the first time. So if you are a foodie, make your way on out to the fairgrounds tomorrow night. We'll have a variety of food trucks available."
Other events Wednesday include the overall showmanship contest; a kickball tournament; a pedal tractor pull, fashion and communications showcase and the awards program. Tomorrow (Wed.) will also be the last day you'll be able to see the livestock exhibits at the fair, which concludes Thursday with a pancake breakfast and the livestock auction.
Another reminder we are livestreaming the livestock shows. You can find links to the streams at the Explore Okoboji Facebook page.
