Delayed Planting Meeting To Be Held In Storm Lake
(Storm Lake)-- Ongoing wet weather is making it impossible for some area farmers to get their spring planted completed, or in some cases, started even.
Another in what has been a series of delayed planting workshops for farmers in the region will be held this Friday in Storm Lake. It will be held at 1:00 pm Friday at the Buena Vista County Extension office in Storm Lake.
Topics will address the effects on crop variety, maturity, re-planting, and questions related to crop insurance and FSA policies. Keynote speakers will include Paul Kassel, a Field Agronomist for ISU Extension and Outreach; Gary Wright, Farm Management Specialist for ISU Extension and Outreach; Dave McCoy, a crop insurance agent; and Paul Berte, FSA Executive Director for Buena Vista and Pocahontas counties.
Those planning to attend should pre-register by calling (712) 732-5056 or (712) 335-3103.
The workshop is free.
