Deadly Crash Shuts Down Stretch Of Hwy 71 North Of Windom
(Windom, Mn.)-- A deadly crash Monday shut down a stretch of Highway 71 north of Windom. The Minnesota State Patrol says 21-year-old Cody Galer of Windom was driving a 2000 Ford Focus northbound when he lost control on the slick road. Troopers say Galer’s vehicle then slid into the path of a southbound semi driven by 29-year-old Daniel Kronbach of Lamberton.
Authorities say Galer was killed as a result of the crash; no injuries were reported to Kronbach.
Damage estimates to the car and semi weren’t available.
The crash took place around 6:30 a.m.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office and the Windom Police Department.
