Fri 7-7-2017

(Ocheyedan)-- Osceola county authorities have released details into a two vehicle collision June 30th that sent one person to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office says vehicles driven by 29-year-old Sherida Brown of Sibley and 34-year-old Henry Vivar Hernandez of Sioux Falls were both westbound on Highway 9 just west of the Osceola-Dickinson county line. Deputies say Brown missed her turn and drove onto the shoulder of the roadway. She then attempted a U-turn and collided with the vehicle driven by Vivar Hernandez.

Brown was taken by ambulance to Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. No injuries were reported to Vivar Hernandez.

$11,000 in damage was estimated to a 2007 Ford Taurus driven by Brown; damage to a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Vivar Hernandez was estimated at $2,500.

The collision took place around 6:20 pm.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Dickinson County Sheriff's Office and the Ocheyedan Fire Department.
