Complaint Of Drug Use At Apartment Leads To Arrest

(Estherville)-- An investigation into a report of illegal narcotics usage at an apartment in Estherville has resulted in the arrest of a West Bend man on drug charges.

Estherville police say officers were called around 6:00 p.m. Monday to 702 North 9th Street apartment 1. A consent search resulted in police discovering a man in the apartment identified as Chad Herring of West Bend.

As part of the investigation the department’s K-9 Max was deployed. Herring was found to be in possession of about 3 ounces of what’s alleged to be marijuana along with drug paraphernalia. It was also discovered Herring was wanted on a warrant out of Palo Alto county for a probation violation on an original charge of burglary in the 3rd degree as a habitual offender.

Herring was booked into the Emmet county jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a drug tax stamp violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held on a $2,000 and was also being held for Palo Alto county on the warrant.
