Collision Sends Two People To The Hospital With Minor Injuries
(Paullina)-- Minor injuries were reported Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 10 and a county road in O'Brien county.
Authorities say 63-year-old Carl Vande Weerd of Rock Valley was driving a 2013 Ford pickup southbound on the county road and pulled into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet pickup driven by 22-year-old Ethan Faust of Paullina who was westbound on Highway 10.
Vande Weerd's vehicle went into the southwest ditch where it rolled once before coming to rest on its wheels. The vehicle driven by Faust came to rest in the ditch.
Vande Weerd was taken by ambulance to the Orange City Hospital; Faust was taken by private vehicle.
Vande Weerd was cited for failure to obey a stop sign; Faust was cited for driving a non-registered vehicle.
Both vehicles were totaled.
